:: Monday Murals: Our Lady of Fátima

The first church built in Brasília in 1958 was designed by Oscar Niemeyer. It had an abstract mural painted by Alfredo Volpi, a renowned paiter. In 2009 it was substituted by this one painted by Francisco Galeno. As the church was closed when I was there, this photo was shot through a hole of the lattice door, so the blurred area to the right.

A primeira igreja construída em Brasília em 1958 foi projetada por Oscar Niemeyer. Ela tinha um mural abstrato pintado por Alfredo Volpi, um renomado pintor. Em 2009, foi substituído por este pintado por Francisco Galeno. Como a igreja estava fechada quando fui lá, esta foto foi feita através dos vazados da porta de treliça, por isso a área embaçada à direita.
