In May 2013 I showed a kind of sign somewhat common over 50 years ago: stores had their names written on cement tiles laid on the sidewalk. At that time I posted the sign of my elementary school and said I knew only another one existing till today. Here it is: a bakery that no longer exists but is ‘imortalized’ up today.

Em maio de 2013 eu mostrei uma espécie de placa comercial um tanto comum mais de 50 anos atrás: lojas tinham seus nomes escritos com ladrilhos hidráulicos assentados na calçada. Naquele tempo eu postei o nome da minha escola primária e disse que eu só conhecia um outro existente até hoje. Aqui está: uma padaria que já não existe, mas está ‘imortalizada’ até hoje.

Something that isn’t done here, but occasionally you see a ghost sign of a business long since gone on a building.
There are places in the States where a school or sports team will sell bricks with people’s names on them to raise money. This reminds me of that a bit.
