:: Day of the Indian :2:

DayoftheIndian2

Before men stepped on here
In rich and fertile terraes Brazilis
That were populated and loved by millions of Indians
Real happy owners
Of the land of pau-Brasil
For every day, every hour, was day of the indian
For every day, every hour, was day of the indian
But now they only have one day
The day April 19
But now they only have one day
The day April 19
Jorge Ben JorCurumim Call Cunhantã ‘Cause I’m gonna tell (Every day was the Day of the Indian)
;;;
Jorge Bem JorCurumim Chama Cunhantã Que Eu Vou Contar (Todo Dia Era Dia De Índio)

  1. We don’t have a day of the Indian. But on Columbus Day (October) you can usually count on Indian protests. The “discovery” of the New World didn’t work out so well for the native peoples.

    1. Here they were almost decimated. They live in poor conditions and were barely reminded this year because the date coincided with Holy Week. However, this month a tribe was found in the Amazon, still on the same conditions of those that were here in 1500!
